Can I swear in this forum?

Because I feel like it at this moment.

I want to set up a paid subscription to my joomla content using amember, but I also want amember integrated with my community builder.

Please help me, I have been searching for a solution and I'm starting to pull my hair out due to frustration.

    Regards,
    Ryan

I think I remember that Alex mentioned somewhere that there is a separate integration plugin for the aMember + Joomla Community Builder. I mean separate from the standard aMember + Joomla integration plugin.

So probably the best bet is to contact Alex via the helpdesk.

I do have the integration plugin for community builder.

But it says the plugin cannot be used with paid subscriptions??

    Alex, any comments?

    CB paid subscriptions

Amember can be used for a joomla/cb membership site ONLY if it is used to protect something else OTHER than the users login to the joomla site.

    Here's the reason.

When Joomla is setup with CB the user is logging in to CB NOT Joomla. The Amember plugin for Community Builder is not in control of the login it is only used to synchronize the users details betweeen you Joomla/CB install and the Amember users tables.

When Joomla is setup WITHOUT community builder AND does have the amember joomla plugin installed the user is actually logging in to Amembers users tables.

You can still protect content in you Joomla memberhsip site with community builder installed BUT it has to use another one of amembers protection methods.. For example the php_include on a content item or any other method to protect the links to videos ( This is what I do at www.mysmallbizu.com) - this method allows you to use the same username and password that the user used to login to the joomla site but requires a separate login.

    Hope that helps

How exactly would I go about this?

I want to set up a section of paid content, yet have contributors (free) be able to add content to that section and have a link back to their profile.

I wonder if I could have all log in through cb, then have the two seperate sections (paid members and authors). The paid content could then be protected seperately for those who choose to purchase, while the other members and authors would have access to a more limited content.

Is this possible and how exactly would I set it up to work with amember?

    Thanks
