I noticed after installing that the "configured license key expires" and I see the following:

    Configured License Keysmysite.com expires 03/30/12

What is this supposed to mean? I didn't install a demo - I installed the full version. I've had things like this come up before, not realizing that these keys expire. Can you advise us on this? I know you guys are on top of the situation but obviously this one is important to get straight. :)

    Sales and Refund Policy

Fraud protection policy. After order, you will receive license key valid for 4 months. After 3 months, you will automatically get lifetime license. It is our fraud protection only and you will not be asked to pay again. However, if we get chargeback for the payment, the domain name will be black-listed and it will be impossible to use aMember script on this domain.

OK - I'll tell you what happened - but it's not what you described above.

I switched the domain on the back end, not realizing that you can't just release a domain and deauthorize it and validate it for a new domain (my test site.) The authorization didn't work when I entered the code into the new domain so amember never launched into the admin and forced me to wait for a new code. However, when my new site was generated, the code that I received to plugin to authorize the license I've had for quite a while is evidently only a 2 month license.

Let me advise this - emails should be sent to the administrator warning the administrator of a need to update the license key. In addition, let me suggest that this item above is somewhere very conspicuous. With v3 (which I'm still using) I had the encoded key fail on me and my integrations went down for several days before I could figure out the problem. My sensitivity is what led me to notice the expiration date. Hopefully we can nip this issue now before it could be something later - thanks for the quick response.

PS - I'm going to need to change that license from the test site again eventually. ;)

Not sure if I understood your situation correctly. Look at https://www.amember.com/amember/member - make sure your license is configured for your current domain name where aMember is installed.

If there is a mismatch, submit a ticket and we will change your registered domain name.

So we need to install the new license after 3 months? This is my issue. ON the 4th month my site went down and says I have an issue with configured license keys. How do I fix this?

I think that's the case. I had no idea and suddenly things stopped working at the time. I contacted support.

Normally, aMember fetches lifetime license from amember.com website automatically. If your server configuration does not allow to do that, you just go to https://www.amember.com/amember/member , go to Licenses, copy/paste the license key, and enter it into your aMember.
