All this membership stuff is new to me, so please entertain my ignorance. I'm in final stages of completing my site. I already have authorize.net integrated on a sign-up page. I also have a 1ShoppingCart account, but no aMember account. My developer set up a member database, but I don't like it and began to look into aMember. I only joined 1SC because I thought I needed to and for the ability to have an affiliate program. My questions are: 1) Can I cancel my 1SC account and replace it with aMember? 2) Opinions on keeping authorize as my payment gateway or is PayPal sufficient? Please help. I'm really anxious to get my site up & running but I continue to run into these type of obstacles.
1) Yes, you can cancel your 1SC account and use aMember's built-in affiliate system (it works good enough... not to extent of 1SC's, but pretty damn good). 2) Don't know what to tell you there... Paypal is usually sufficient enough, but it never hurts to offer people a non-Paypal method of payment, as there are those who just want to punch in their credit card # and get it over with without worrying about Paypal accounts, etc, etc. Actually, now that I think about it again, I'd keep both.
