I have purchased the Coppermine plugin, uploaded it to /amemeber/plugins/protect/coppermine then added my main amember db user to the coppermine dbuser list. Then I entered the database and prefix as instructed. I started coppermine (version 1.3.2) and I'm not sure what to do next? For $40 I would think some extended documentation could be included with each plugin explaining what it should do and how it works, setup etc... please advise.
Almost all plugins work the same: https://www.cgi-central.net/support/faq.php?do=article&articleid=4 Configuration tasks: 1. enable plugin at aMember Cp -> Setup -> Plugins; 2. configure it at aMember Cp -> Setup -> Coppermine; 3. go to aMember Cp -> Manage Products and configure "Coppermine access" in product settings (there will be new field); 4. to transfer all your existing aMember members to Coppermine, click aMember Cp -> Rebuild Db I'm sorry for lack of documentation and ready to answer any questions, here or in the helpdesk.
Thanks Alex! Alex: Ok, I did that, but when I try to log into Coppermine, it still does not recognize me (presumably using the aMember dataset). I guess I am unsure of exactly how the plug is supposed to work. I have 3600 members in aMember, and I have just installed Coppermine as a new photo Galley script for my customers complete projects and instructional images. I want all my aMember members and ONLY those members to be able to log into Coppermine, hopefully using the existing aMember database. So far, I can not do this. I verified settings and the plugin seems to be OK, no errors when setting up the database connection. Thanks! Steve
??? Alex: Still not working... The database for Coppermine is still empty. I assume that the rebuild is supposed to move all the members from aMember over to the Coppermine database, right? The database and prefix settings are correct, and aMember reports no errors with that (it did previously, but I made the correction). I am using the "registered" option in the Coppermine access setting in "manage product". I have tried to rebuild several times. Any other hints would be appreciated. Thanks! Steve
Strange behavior AFTER coppermine plugin installation. Alex: I am now seeing some strange behavior after I installed the coppermine plugin. 1. No debug log info is being generated on new signups. 2. New signups are not completing using PayPal, not sure about Anet or 2checkout yet. Payment is accepted, but no "welcome" email is sent out and no debug info is being generated. The users account is created, but not marked as completed when payment is made. I am investigating now to provide you with more information.
After uninstalling the coppermine script..all is OK... Alex... My first troubleshooting step was to deactive the access option, then remove the coppermine plugin (de-select in the plugins area), then rebuild the database again. Now everything seems fine again. At least my members are getting their emails and the debug info is working again. Just an FYI, I am using Coppermine 1.3.2 (stable) version. Maybe something changed since you wrote the plugin??? Please advise. Steve
It can be handled in helpdesk only. Else we would loose too much time for conversation while one quick look of support specialist is enough...
Alex: I decided to take a crack at this again today (over 6 months later). It IS working with new signups, however, my 5000+ other members do not show up in Coppermine. Only new signups. How can I import all the existing users in the Coppermine database?
Alex: Ok, it was a busy signup day and both PayPal and Authorize.net SIM seem to be working OK and emails are being sent. However, the only problem I have now is How do I get my existing members imported into the Coppermine Database? New signups are being added just fine, but I have about 5000 "old" or previously existing members who are not in the Coppermine database, even after several DB rebuilds. Maybe I'm thinking the plug should be doing something it was not designed to do ie: import existing aMember members. I can get into PHP MyAdmin, but I just need a quick guide as to the best method of importing the amember_members table data into the Coppermine cpg132_users table. The data fields are NOT an exact match.
Alex: I did that, many times and it has no effect on syncing the two database tables: amember_members and cpg132_users. Can you point me in the direction (location) of the code that is supoosed to do that? FYI: New members are being added to both databases as they sign up with no problem. However, the syncing of the two require tables is not working.
I'm sorry, my mistake. Rebuild option has not been implemented yet in coppermine plugin. If you contact support via helpdesk, we will email you fixed file.
I have the same problem, your plugin is not doin't the job I follow your advice in this forum step by step but I't doesn't work I think than one customer had the same problem before so I think is a good Idea, put that information in the forum and with the plugin files. Any Ideas guys? Thank's!!!
coppermine plugin vs php_include plugin Alex a question wich is the difference if I use the coppermine plugin (not working) or PHP_Include plugin? I don't mind to one or other I'm just looking for a fast solution William
Alex: I am upgrading to 3.0.7Pro this week and would like to see if the coppermine plugin has cahnged since I posted here last. I know the rebuild was in question. Can you email me the latest version? Thanks!
I have been using the CM plugin now for many years. However, I just added a new renewal product. I added it to the integration but it just does not work. The other products work fine for CM auto login, but from what I can see, the member is still set as "guest" in Coppermine's user listing. If I manually switch the user's subscription to the previous subscription level it works, but not with a renewal. My first guess it that because the user has an expired initial subscription and a new renewal at the same time, it uses AND logic rather than OR. Can this operation be confirmed? It may be a bug. I know last time I had to defer to support to fix this but of course they never mentioned what they did.
