    Hi,

Don't know if I'm in the right area of the forum for this question...

I use paypal for recurring billing.

I have one product, preiced a 29.95$ per month.

If I create a coupon and put a rebate of 100%, what will happen?

    1. will the client get ONE free month
    OR
    2. will the client get a free subscription for every month that follows?

I just want to give a coupon to a few people that would give them a free month.

Also, I would like to know another thing about coupons.

When I create a coupon, I have to choose between % and USD.

If my product is sold in CAD$, how do I give a fixed price coupon rebate?

    Thanks!

    Stephanie

    1. For one month.

    2. USD means here your main currency. It will be in CAD of course.

Follow-up to the 100% coupon question

I've just been trying to set up a 100% discount coupon. What I want is for the customer to be able to acces something which is normally paid for, but I want to give some customers free access by giving them 100% discount. However, they are still directed via the paypal pro processing. Can I give someone 100% discount without asking for their credit card details?

(This is all different to a 'free' signup with the free signup plugin. Most customers will have to pay - I just want to give a 'free' coupon to a few)

Thanks in advance for any hints!

Is it because you have enabled and assigned "Paysystem to a product" ?

So for example if our regular price is $30 a month and we want to let someone join for $20 a month (for every month in the future), it looks like the coupon feature is not the way to do this. Am I correct?

It looks like we would need to create another product that is the same as the first except it has the price set at $20 instead of $30.

On that 100% discount for the first month question, I would just set up a product that has the first month free, if using Paypal.

    Right now - yes.
Next release will make it configurable (you can configure coupon as recurring or as affecting first payment only).

Hi Alex, I'd also like to use the recurring coupon feature. Can you tell us when the new version will be released?
If not for a while then is there any way to implement this with the current version with some sort of mod?

    Alexander,
Any update on this? I'm not sure when 3.08 was released (ie, was 3.08 the "july release" you mentioned), but it still doesn't create recurring discounts,

    Andrew,

3.0.8 was released January 2007. Go to: http://www.amember.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5428

The new release will be a major change -- I believe it'll version 4.0 (Beta). Hopefully it will be out this month (it was supposed to be release last month) -- I rather the aMember Team finished the products with less bugs and problems -- so it may have taken them longer than expected.
