Hi, we want to use the coupon system as a payment system. we sell the customer the coupon and on the signup page he can choose to pay with paypal or with his coupon. so the coupon is like cash and not like a discount. can someone help us.

Can you explain your model in more detail? aMember may not be the best system for this setup.

Theres a coupon plugin from jlogica that allows you to issue a unique coupon upon signup.

We are running several internet hotspots and use amember as our payment system.
the user can walk into our sites and connect his notebook to the hotspot. now he can sign up for the i.e. 1h internet access. the customer can then pay per paypal or, now the coupons came into it, the customer went to our sales person and buy a 1h internet access card (the coupon we generates in amember) and choose Coupon as the payment system at the signup page. when he now clicks on continue, he have to put in the coupon code to get access to the internet.
hope thats enough information for you.

Aren't there systems already built to handle this?

Can't they just enter the coupon in the coupon field?
If its for 100% off, this will bypass the paypal payment.
