Hi, how can I create a simple form (with a question, and a simple 'YES' 'NO' radio button, for e.g. - Did you have your breakfast this morning? YES, NO) - and the user can make their selection and click on 'submit' to trigger an email that is sent to the web admin. I'm creating an online coaching website - I am the coach and I require my clients to report to me on a daily basis, whether or not they have completed their task for the week - by simply logging in, and sending me a 'YES' or 'NO'. Is this possible? If yes - how? Thank you in advance.
If you are using aMember as a stand alone product, not sure. But if you are using a front end like WordPress this could be handled by a form plugin such as Gravity Forms. If you don't need this integrated with aMember there are also polling services that can do this such as PollDaddy.
I second grants suggestion to use a wordpress form- gravity forms, or contact for 7 works fine. You can also use the amember page protection to allow only logged in members to submit. David
Hmm ok. Problem is, I'm running amember as a standalone, not integrating to wordpress. I'm a personal trainer - coaching my clients for weight loss. I require my clients to report on a daily basis via email right now. However, I'd like them to be able to do a simple: 1. Did you workout today? YES/NO 2. Did you eat right today? YES/NO And I need the database to keep track of their replies. So at the end of the month, I can see their compliance. Can anyone help me with this feature? I'm willing to pay for your services. I have a few more features I'd need as well (monthly weight report, progress photo upload 1x/month).
This type of functionality is not built into aMember or any other membership solution that I am aware of. I think your best approach is to use a totally separate system for this. There are many online polling services that could do this. I would Google this and start the process of researching and testing.
Thanks for the suggestion - my concern would then be - if I used a separate system for this, can I tie it to the individual user in my amember system? I guess that's why I thought of building something from scratch first.
In anyway, it will be more simple to make integration with existing system, rather than build such system from scratch.
I operate several aMember powered sites, including a few powered by Magento, and I've found the form systems in all of them, well, lacking for loss of a better word. The form system in WordPress is OK, but I use a proprietary CMS that gives me additional PHP controls that WordPress just doesn't handle correctly. That being said, ALL of my sites use a central PHP form submission system called MachForm. I use a single installation on my primary domain to manage all the forms and submissions for all 6 of my sites, and when you use iFrames to embed the forms into the site they are completely seamless. MachForm is VERY affordable, EXTREMEMLY powerful, yet very easy to use. I don't have a stake in that company, nor do I make money or referrals from them, I just love their script. Here's a link to their site: http://www.appnitro.com/ And here are a few examples my from websites using the forms that MachForm creates. Note that all of my forms listed below have been embedded into the sites using iFrames. http://www.everbatim.net/store/index.php/contact http://www.eclipsewebinars.com/contact.php http://www.eclipsewebinars.com/support_ticket.php http://www.reporterwebinars.com/contact.php http://www.eclipseusers.com/contact_site_support.php Again, I just need basic forms, which reflect in the links I listed above, but their script is SO much more powerful than that and is capable of MUCH more than I am using it for. While it doesn't currently integrate into aMember it WILL serve you well.
