I'm experimenting with "Choose a folder for protection". It seems that this feature will do what I need. Unfortunately, it requires me to nagivate through my server's folders. My site uses a dynamic CMS so once I get to
mysite.com/products/ there is no option to select mysite.com/products/1/ or mysite.com/products/2/.

Is there a way I can just enter a URL?

The protect folder option is not for dynamic URLS, it protects real directories.

You place your hard content, pdfs, videos etc.. in these, protect with amember and then link to them, call them from the CMS.

Bummer. I didn't really want to hear that one.

I'm not overly concerned about people randomly stumbling upon
    mydomain.com/members/wp-content/uploads

It looks like that is going to be an expensive mod.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Lee's amemeberincremental.com plugin for wordpress can protect the virtual directory using the amember incremental content plugin.
