I have set recaptcha on my registration form (only for the forms that have free product, spammers don't like to pay for product I find...)

Anyway, I'm still getting crappy spam registrations. I realize they are just figuring out how to get around it but was wondering if anyone had any tips?

I frankly have no idea why they would bother with my site as comments are off and it's a waste of their time. So it's more of a nuisance to me than anything.

    thanks in advance

One tactic that many use is to charge $1 (instead of free) for your product. This cuts down not only on spammers, but also on freeloaders that would not pay for your upgrade anyway.

A couple of other options are:

    1. Increase the complexity of your recaptcha
    2. Require validated email address
