Directory (Third party)

Is there any third party add-on and be intergrated with aMember -- Directory of our selected members? For example, we would like to print Directory on annual basis -- with data exported from aMember. Similiar to white page in Phone Book. We also like to print yellow page too (if Business is listed in our aMember).

We're willing to do either direct print out or covert into pdf format for our members to download.

If above is not possible, is there any stand alone software that can do Directory? We could export/import data and manually clean up for printing.

Currently, I don't think aMember has a plugin for any directory applications.

What kind of information would your directory store? How would it be structured? Could you give me further details?

I know it wouldn't be too difficult to create a simple directory application that uses aMember's own database. aMember is very flexible.

Well..let me try my best.

The group use aMember for membership only. Now they would like to expand to give option to membership to be listed in the directory. Also, non-member can sign up and maybe pay a small fee to be listed. that will be in White Page.

We also want to list businesses -- so they'll have to use aMember to registered and pay a fee.

Anyone will allow option to list their address, phone number, email, etc.

However, I told the group that it's not possible that we could get a software that may have intergration plugin -- maybe a third party without any intergration plugin -- and we'll have to export the data from aMember.

Directory Software

I am using phpMyDirectory for our directory and aMember has the integration plugin...it is called "pmd".

And phpMyDirectory is pretty good.

Sorry...forgot to mention...aMember does not list pmd as one of their plugins. Just contact support and they will arrange for you to purchase the plugin for only $40. Once you pay, they send you the plugin files.

I did onot find it very good. Its just very basic.

I would suggest to use one of the CMS plugins, like Joomla.

Then one can install such a directory plugin. Like for e.g. I find the directoy of moset tree to be excellent.

So to price of $40 remains the same.

Further, Joomla plugin has a powerful capacity to connect to a remote server which may be on a different server than amember installation.
Thereafter one can avail all the advantages of a CMS, like FAQs, etc...
