Forgive the total newbness of the question. I'm new here...

I have a site protected by aMember...

    MySite.com/members

If I want to have a Vanilla forum, and I want to locate it at:

    MySite.com/members/vanilla

Do I need the Vanilla plugin?

Will the plugin automatically log members into the forum at the same time it logs them into the protected area? Would that be the reason for needing the plugin?

    Any input appreciated.

    Basically yes.
The plugins make it so that you only have to register with Amember, this way your users don't have to register on vanilla separately.
It adds their username and password to the vanilla database basically.

You may have to make some cookie settings so that when they log in to Amember, they don't have to re-authenticate when logging in to vanilla.

You also don't have to have the forum like you have it
    example.com/members/vanilla

You could have it like this if you wanted
    example.com/vanilla

It doesn't really matter as long as the databases and plugin settings are set up correctly.

    What Cookie Settings in Vanilla?

I have Vanilla Forums integrated with aMember. The only issue left is that when a user logs into aMember they are being forced to re-login to Vanilla Forum.

What do I need to do to enable single sign-on between the two?

    Thanks,
    Andy
