Right now I have a membership site with lifetime access priced at a one-time fee $247, using aMember and the basic Paypal plugin.

I want to implement a payment plan option with 6 monthly installments of $47 each.

In other words, after 6 monthly payments they will continue to have access to the site.

    Here are my questions:

    1) Is this just as simple as setting the price to $47, checking "Recurring Billing," and setting "Recurring Times" to 6? Does that work properly with Paypal or are there any issues I need to be aware of? Will someone still have access after the 6 months are up or does aMember unsubscribe him/her?

    2) I've seen many complaints/problems from those using Paypal to process recurring payments - apparently you have to go through an annoying/cumbersome confirmation process if you're using a credit card and/or have a Paypal account, which most of my customers don't.

I want a customer to be able to enter his/her credit card or bank information and then be seamlessly set up for 6 recurring payments with no hassle.

What's the best way to do that? Do I need a merchant account?

    Thanks,
    Brian

It will work, but if you set up paypal to rebill for 6 payments, after the 6th, they will expire and no longer get access.

There may be a custom solution available that will automatically give lifetime access on the 6th payment.

    Insallment Question

I would like to set up a subscription that has the option to make 2 payments BEFORE having access to the membership area...

So - they have an option to pay $37 for 2 installments. Once the 2nd installment is made, they would have access to the site.

    Thanks!

You would need a custom plugin to do this- perhaps Larry at Jlogica could modify his complimentary plugin to give a new product after X payments.

    Previous post:
I created a lifetime plugin to do this- its a bonus item for my premium members.

    don't have installment function.

i've got version 3.1.8, I don't have the option for "installments" for paypal when I add a product.

How can I get that plugin?

and how do I get the "lifetime subscription after installments are paid" plugin?

To set products to have only X payments
    price: 29.95
    duration: 1 mos
    recurring: checked
Recurring Times: 6 (for 6 installments, 1 per month)

Its a plugin I developed and give to my premium members.
