Hi all. Very new to this forum but did a good search before asking but couldn't find the answer.

I've downloaded the latest trial version of amember and have set it up on some webspace to test. Must admit, it is exactly what I need and will probably purchase it. I decided to add some links on the template/admin/menu.html, uploaded the edited page (in Dreamweaver MX) and now get the following code in the left frame of the aMember Pro Control Panel page.

Parse error: parse error in ../../../../member/smarty/SmartyNoWrite.class.php(159) : eval()'d code on line 71

Uploaded the original version of menu.html, still get the error, also sent up the original smarty folder, still with no luck.

What on earth have I done? I only wanted a few more links !!!

    Look forward to any help

    Andrew

Templates uses Smarty syntax. If you change or remove blocks quoted by {...} , you may get such errors.
Please try to upload default templates.

    Thanks for the reply.

I ended up uploading the whole amember folder again and that solved the problem !! I will still want to add more links on that menu bar so your info will be useful so I don't mess it up again.

I'm having difficulties deleting the old folder on the server though. Very strange as it says i don't have the permission to do it. Will work that out though when I get to it.

    Cheers

You can add links, but do it with text editor or be careful with DreamWeaver.

Delete folder from your webhosting control panel.

    Thanks again.

Cheers for the second reply. Will attack the folders from the control panel like you mentioned. The folders were demo 'amembers' that I renamed and practiced with.

Really happy with your demo product and will make the purchase next week.

    All the best

    Andrew
