Hi Everyone, I am having a problem with two members who are not receiving any emails from me. This includes the verification email sent after sign up. I am at a loss as to what to do? Could someone play detective and work out what the problem might be. I would pay for your time if you can help out. We are using amemberpro. The members concerned have their spam filters turned off and don't have junk folders on their email accounts. Just found out that their hosting co is GO DADDY, that being the problem is their anything I can do for them? Thanks, Neil
Neil, aMember has an email tester in admin: AdminCP -> Setup Configuration -> Email Test that and see if it works for a) your email address b) your customers email address in question. This will at least narrow down your troubleshooting. If it is customer specific, ensuring that the email address is correct, you are not on a blacklist somewhere (you can check your server IP here on the left side. If it is server specific (ie. your test emails are not going to you either) than check to ensure your host has PHP mail() enabled for your account or switch to an SMTP solution (as configured in that adminCP in the same place you are testing)
Hi guys, Thanks for coming back to me, thankfully i don't think it is a amember problem as its just 2 people but have discovered that their hosting company for their emails is godaddy, I have heard that they are not the eaisest company to get hold of so if anyone has come across problems with them before and has any thoughts or ideas, greatly appreciated. GoDaddy? Oh man... I can tell you right away that's where the problem is. Any company of that magnitude which doesn't have a toll-free number where you can reach them at is a bust in my books...
I have worked with a few clients who had me transfer their aMember install out of GoDaddy because they were sticky with a couple of issues that prevented aMember from working well. Lee
oh, not only that (I've had enough of those too), but now I just refuse to work with anyone who is stuck on GoDaddy for hosting - it's just too much hassle, and things can never get working proper on there...
I think what neil is saying is his customers are on godaddy and not able to receive his emails. He's using another host for his amember site. But I totally agree, and get anyone on godaddy to switch before I do an integration. David
