Existing Vbulletin Member Db

I was reading in the vB plugin to contact you for info on integrating my existing user db and for info. What do I need to do or know?

this words in readme is depricated. You don't have to do something special to start use the plugin.

When running the vbulletin integration plugin, I get the following error when trying to rebuild DB:

MYSQL ERROR:
You have an error in your SQL syntax near 's my car?' ' at line 3
in query:
SELECT password, usergroupid FROM forums_domain_com.user WHERE username='Dude- where's my car?'

(I've changed the domain name here).

Is there a quick fix other than telling my current users to change their usernames such not to have apostrophes in them?
