    Hello Group

Can you tell me what happens after a member has expired?

    1. I sent out the notice via e-mail that the member was to expire :D in x days.

    2. On 03/12/2006 her member ship was over.

    3. On 03/16/2006 she decides to sign up for another year.

    4. Will the user have access to her members information area to renew or will she have to sign up as a new user?

    5. A returning member pays $55.00 a new member pays $45.00. So what I have to make sure of (or try to) is make sure a returning member is paying more money.

Any thoughts would be helpful on how to implement this would be great.

    Caucus,
I know only one method to validate if it is the same customer or not - to check his credit card#.

If you are using a payment plugin that works directly with credit cards, then it is possible to implement such checking - let me know and I will describe how.

If you are using something like PayPal, then there is only one method to implement that:
    - enable "Unique Email" and "Validate Email" checking at aMember CP->Setup
    - create 2 products:
    * first with price = 45 and Scope = Signup Only
    * second with price = 55 and Scope = Paid Members Only
It will force some visitors to really pay higher price, but it is of course not absolute protection.

    Hello Great One

I think you are right it may not be the best thing but it gives the basic idea! I think no matter what there is going to be some sort of manul update. I like your idea and will implement it.
