I'm having a Joomla site and I want to use amember pro to protect the joomla page, that's simple enough.

However, say I put a video file streaming on Joomla page. The file supposely are also protected by amember, otherwise visitor will know the path to the file and leech it off once they read the joomla page.

My question is, could amember protect the folder in different servers? Do I have to use protection method on other server? Any suggestion or help before buying the script would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure about controlling access on a 2nd domain, but on the same one to protect your videos/content, you can use the .htaccess protection built into aMember.

You should answer some other questions first!

What joomla component are you using to manage the videos?
Are you streaming your videos or are you using a progressive download?
Are they embedded in a page or links for a media player?
What size are the videos? - 800X600 screen captures or 320X240 talking heads?

Do you want the videos and text content to be available outside of the joomla site for example via RSS feeds - or only to logged in users?

Amember can play a part in protecting the videos with all these options, but it has to be used different for each option!

    Just another suggestion:
Place your videos (or whatever your streaming) below your domain. This will prevent the average person from using a browser to navigate directly to the file page. Add the previous mentioned htaccess file and you'll probablly be OK.

If you stick with Joomla, ReMository can handle your files that are below your domain. I believe Docman can also do this. I don't think Sobi2 can do this, but that's why they have a forum. :D
