I have downloadable class files for my members. Before installing Amember they could use flashget to download them whenever it was convenient for them.

Now, when they try to use flashget after installing amember they are getting an error and are unable to download using flashget.

This is the error they are getting:

    Missing file: www.mysitename.com/amember/templates/css/site.css

This pops up in Excel when I try to open a file that I've downloaded.

    Thanks for your help!

Please just upload empty file to that location.

OK, so I added an empty site.css file into that folder, but when I download my Excel spreadsheets in Flashget, I am not getting those files.

I'm getting a 3KB file that shows the Amember log on screen opened up in Excel. I'm not getting the spreadsheets that I downloaded...it's just really weird!

I have just right clicked and saved the file without using flashget and it works just fine. So I KNOW it's not the file itself. It's something in amember that is causing problems.

I have zip files as well that they download, and it is saying it could be a damaged file when I download it through flashget. When I right click and save target as, it downloads and opens just fine.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change in either my amember or my flashget software?

In short, you have to use htpasswd protection to get download managers working.
Other (advanced) protection methods are based on cookies, and cannot be handled by this software.
