I am using Interspire Webpublisher and I have set up folder protection but nothing is protected. I set up a hyper link on the home page to login.php... does that have something to do with it?
Just to confirm, you created a new directory, like /protected/ then protected it using new_rewrite protection in folder protect? David
Selected "Categories" For example, I selected "Categories" to protect inside Amember CP. This contols the web buttons across the top of my website. Now when I go to select one of those buttons nothing is on the next page that says you have to sign up for a free or paid membership. Like it is not protected. Not quite sure how this works?
I think maybe you are trying to protect a "virtual directory" with amember folder protection- its not meant for that. amember protects real directories- for example you put content into a directory called /content/ and then protect it with amember. if someone trys to access /content/music.mp3 and they arent a member they cant get it. Using PHP directories We are not adding html but php content management. My understanding is that the information is cached in PHP. How do you protect directories like this or is there a setting that I am missing?
Help Desk Not Helping I have tried repeatedly to explain the issue to the help desk but they don't understand the problem. Can I contact you or someone else?
I think this may be an understanding of the system issue- if you are using a content management system- chances are your directories like/http://www.tigertime.net/categories/football/tiger-videos.html are not real- they are virtual, created by the CMS system- so amember isnt able to protect a virtual directory. Is the file tiger-videos.html a file that you can download? or is it created on the fly by the system? David
