I'm testing out the free version before making purchase, I have a question that do I have to install amember and the forum database, say vbulletin, in the same database? Because the thread Here say that amember will automatically check the existing user names, so I assume that vbulletin database and amember database must be in the same one. Also, how it works for vbulletin exsiting members? since they don't have their username in amember database.
It is not necessary (but still be possible) to install amember into the same database. When you will install vBulletin plugin for aMember Pro, you will be asked for vB database name and vB tables prefix. Please have a look to this document: https://www.cgi-central.net/support/faq.php...cle&articleid=4
so where I can find the vbulletin plug-in? is it only available for pro script? If so, how could I try it out with the amember free?
How does aMember handle member information updates? Hello, We are considering a move to aMember from another product. Although the support there is non-existant, we did manage to get it working fluently and with smooth vBulletin interoperability. We've installed the trial version of aMember and it looks good so far. Unfortunately we can't test the vBulletin plug-in, so I need to trouble you with a question here. Obviously the username and/or password is created in vBulletin when a new member signs up in aMember. However, what happens if the username/pasword is edited in the Admin Control Panel? Will the database in vBulletin be updated too? Many thanks, Herby
Dreamaccount import script Thanks. Another question: I read in these forums that you have a script to migrate data from DreamAccount to aMember. Does the script take member details only, or will it bring over the current subscription info too? Cheers, Herby
