I have a Joomla site in which aMember has been installed. I have a button on the homepage linking to the login. I have two subscriptions setup that can be purchased. (http://www.ikmfusa.com)

However my client wants the option for an "inactive" instructor (they teach self defense classes), to login and enter without having to purchase anything, and have access to an area where they can download PDF files available only to instructors.

I created an article in Joomla and placed the PDF's on that page and set it for "registered users only" but don't know how to go about hooking this up with aMember, as well as setting up aMember to allow access without purchasing a subscription.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Did you install and configure Joomla plugin already?
If yes disable registrations in Joomla and assign aMember prodicts to registered group in Joomla (at aMember CP -> Manage Products -> Joomla access)
To manually add user without payment, go to aMember CP -> Add users and create account for that user.
Then from aMember CP -> Edit User -> User payments add active subscription to above product for this user(he will not be changed if you add subscriptions from aMember CP)

I bought aMember with the Joomla plug-in. . . don't know if its installed. I looked though my plug-ins and modules and did not see anything with aMember attached. . . Wouldn't aMember tech support installed this as well when I requested installation?
