I posted this message to the support desk but thought I'd throw it to the masses as well to see if I could get a quicker resolution.....anyway.... We thought we had the affiliate program working correctly with running a one month free trial and the $10.00 credit per referral ONLY going to those who were paid members, but it seems that the free trial members are getting credit for signing up more free trials members. This doesn't seem right. They should only get credit for a referral if they themselves have paid in full or am I missing something here? Otherwise, the free trial member could get credit for someone that doesn't sign up and pay the full year and how's the admin supposed to manage that without it being alot of work?? Please advise ASAP as we have this site live! Thank you Sean
Sean, aMember calculates affiliate commission when subscription is marked "Completed" (even "free" subscription). Someone would like to credit affiliates even for trials (per-signup), it is also not wrong. There are 2 ways to resolve: - give affiliates % commission for recurring payments - then they will be credited for paid referrals only; - use third-party affiliate program;
OK..I think we'd like to use the % option but just going through the steps, if the free trial member refers someone else and they sign up for a free trial they get 10% of $0.00. So far so good, but once that same new free trial member orders the full membership , does the commission still carry over? i.e 10% of $75.00? Thanks Alex SK
