Hi Forums! Hello Alex! Got a VERY busy amember site running free. 2000+ accounts, and averages 30+ new signups a day! I would like to add my payment processing, using a free trial, and have one question: ?? At what part of the process is the user required to submit Credit Card info when free trial is enabled? ?? At what part of the process is the CC validated? (using AIM, fwiw) I am hoping that CC info must be provided and validated before the user can begin his/her free trial. This is so I can automatically bill if cancelation did not occur. I do not want to allow access until a valid CC has been accepted. It _should_ work this way... just looking for confirmation. I'm hoping it's easier to ask this question in the forums instead of disturbing my current web visitors for testing purposes, or doing an additional test install of aMember. Alex could reply.. but I'm sure a polethera of aMember forum users know the answer -Mike
Judging from other threads... After reading a few more threads about people complaining "a CC# is required for a free trial! I don't want that!". I think I'm on the happy aMember side of this fence. I was simply worried that when I went live, aMember would not take the user to a CC page if I enabled 'a free trial' All the worries about re-signing up for trial memberships and other ways to abuse the free trial system all seem to be in place. - Others seem to be asking for this as a special feature Try Microsoft for those kind of special features. They have tons of them.
I know this is an old thread. But can someone explain how this works? I will use authorize.net CIM for recurring billing. Is the CC verified before the user can register for my site? Or does it just hold whatever info the user writes for CC and then attempt to charge after the free trial? I hope it verifies the info right away even though the customer wont be charged till the trial ends. Also, I am wondering what feature I should enable in authorize.net. Should address matching be enabled or? Also, should I ask for the CVV number? Thanks
No CC info is not validated. When user signup for free trial aMember will just create profile at Authorize.Net and store CC info here.
Is there any way to verify it? So someone can just enter a bunch of BS and get access? I wouldnt mind a 1 cent test charge or whatever it takes.
Sure this can be done I think. If you are interested please contact us in helpdesk, just need some help with testing.
