After searching on the net looking for a good, user friendly membership software that adapt to my needs, I finally decided to get "amember pro".
Three days have gone...enough to understand the good and the bad...
    The good:
    a-I Still think that this is an excelent software;
b- Full of interesting features that I am sure will help a lot the day I know how to use them.
    The Bad:
a- Lack of manual for dummies, or step by step video instructions easy to follow to complete the instalation and get the site working....
I am an artist, used to manage wordpress content and change the look and feel of the templates..and nothing else.
SO, this has been a nightmare to install the software
Thanks Gos and a video from "membership academy" I installed the software and found to get to admin pannel...
    BUT NOW WHAT?
    WHAT IN HEAVEN COMES NEXT?
I AM COMPLETLY LOST ...OR SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW TO FOLLOW OR I WILL DROP THE TOWEL

Set up your products in amember?
    Integrate with wordpress?

Its hard to do a full step by step, as everyone seems to be doing slightly different stuff with their sites.

aMember is excellent bit of software and the support I have received, as have others according to this forum, has gone beyond simply supporting the software 'as supplied' which is what other software suppliers do. Alex and his team are happy to add this extra and change something to suit BUT and I think this is a big BUT.

The software is, as supplied, intended to form PART of a website it is not THE website as such and this will often mean that whilst aMember works perfectly well out of the box as it stands when you start to add it to a website it needs just a bit of knowledge of how it works and how it is structured in order to get the most out of it. Every website is different so there can never be a book that covers everything.

The big problem is everyone is told constructing a website is so simple it can be done with little or no knowledge of programming. Simple ones maybe but start trying to add loads of 'building blocks' together to form a subscription and you start getting complexity that does need a bit of programming knowledge when things do not go smoothly all the time.

Getting site to work is not an overnight job. It takes time ask questions here take time to learn - after all few would jump into a car and drive without a little knowledge likewise with running complex all singing all dancing websites.

The aMember software works, it is used on multi-national sites, so why rubbish it just because you cant be bothered? You are the one who will benifit form your sites income does that not warrant a bit of effort on your part??
