    Hi,

    I finally got everything working except for the folder protection. I created a folder on my site called /apmsubscriberarea and I left it unprotected as far as placing a password or users on the folder.

    Then I went into Amember CP and edited the product to point to that folder. So now when I login as a member I see that subscription to the subscriber area linked on the left side of the page. I can click it and go into the /apmsubscriber area. So all this is working.

    Here's the issue. I dont want 1000 members using the same username and password. I am protecting a magazine content with html, pics, movies all in the folder tree and downward.

    I want my new customers to come to the site. Purchase a subscription and recieve an email with the username and password that gets them into the membership amember page then they can click there and get into the issue or even have a cookie and hit bookmarks directly to the magazine.

    WHat is the best way to do this. The documents just dont seem clear to me and way too fragmented from PDF, to help files, to parts of it in html pages. I thought the htaccess method would have to have someone or some software add new users and passwords to the file in order to have new users. Can someone explain how this works?

    Again, I was told Amember would allow customers to buy by subscriptions to various restricted areas on my site and maintain all the usernames and passwords and all that would be automatically generated and managed by the software. Each user would be issued the user/pass and thats all they would need from then on to see their various products they paid for. This will include the magazine area and also paid guitar lesson video areas. All products are folders.

    Can someone shed some light on this for me?

    Thanks
    Doug

    Doug,
    it works as you expected and it is easy to setup. Just use
    aMember CP -> Protect Folders
    function and follow instructions on this page. I believe you don't need any docs, all information will be displayed on this page.
