Alright, for a school project, I'm working with a group of students in a real world assignment. The assignment is for a gentleman who runs a bar. He wants a number of videos (60 to be exact) to be downloadable to subscribers. I came across aMember and I've pretty much settled on it as my subscription software. Now, There will also need to be a CMS. I thought about hand coding a CMS to integrate with aMember, but 6 weeks to come up with a finished product may not be enough time. I also learned that aMember was able to integrate with Joomla!...so, problem solved. Now...How would the integration with Joomla work? and how do I know the videos will be protected from unauthorized users? I have more questions, but i'll leave it at that for now and ask more ask I get answers. Thank you all for your help. I look forward to buying aMember and playing around with its capabilities!
I just read this... Optionally, added user may be subscribed to configured aMember product. By obvious reasons, this can only be used to give user a free subscription, it won't redirect to payment page/etc. So this plugin is USELESS if you are selling paid subscriptions to your Joomla content. So the whole purpose of this site i'm building is paid subscriptions. Is Joomla not the choice that I want? Or am I better off building a CMS around aMember?
I'm doing what you want to do I'm using Joomla/community builder/amember/ to protect my video library of over 1000 tutorials. Just use the link in the signature file to create a profile in the community and You'll see how it works.
I agree w/ jmaduk. We don't use CB but you can use aMem w/ Joomla and accomplish your goal. Search the forum and you'll see there are plenty of users here using aMem w/ Joomla. I'd also suggest you edit your post: You're speaking above your pay grade and you'll confuse other newbies. Form it as a question, not a bold statement. A bigger question for you is which Joomla Component you'll use to manage your downloads. If this really is just a school project, you may want to consider a few of the free subscription scripts available for Joomla. Otherwise, aMember can't be beat. Good Luck with your project.
121books, that is a direct quote from the amember web site.....it is confusing isn't it? edit: http://www.amember.com/p/Integration/Joomla-CommunityBuilder
