How Does It All work?

    Hi,

    As a newbie, I just want to know how a typical site using aMember works.

    For example: if a person buys membership to my site today, but 7 months later wants to unsubscribe:

    (1) Does aMember provide an "unsubscribe" link? (and as far as the software goes, what does this actually "do" within aMember)

    (2) Does this link notify me of someone unsubscribing?

    (3) Does aMember "connect" (for lack of a better word) to Paypal (which is my payment processor) to enable easy cancellation of their future payments to me? --- OR --- do I have to manually go to Paypal, dig through all records to cancel the payments?

    (4) Does aMember provide reports of subscriptions (sales) and unsubscribes?

    Thanks, I hope these are intelligent questions (my brain is fried today) :)

    I will explain regarding PayPal integration, other plugins may work differently.

    1) Yes, there is "cancel subscription" link in amember/member.php
    2) It will not notify site owner.
    3) This link just points to Paypal subscription cancel page (right to correct subscription, so user does not need to seek for anything). Entire process is handled BY PAYPAL.
    4) Unfortunately, aMember reports does not work well with paypal subscriptions. However, you may use reports in your PayPal account.
