How to create custom reports?

I've searched and there aren't a lot of answers or suggestions on how to create custom reports?

I see MISO is keeping busy but I don't find any suggestions, help files or direction on how to create or even get started with custom reports??

Can anyone get me going in the right direction? What are the best tools to use or where/how to get started?

What kind of reports do you need? Can you be more specific?

There are no suggestions because most of the custom reporting requires you to know mysql/php and how to create custom mysql queries, as well the knowledge of how amember data is stored in mysql and how to pull out exactly what you need in a report from it and then how to show it in the existing (or new) admin smarty templates.

I have a similar question on getting some better reporting. Out of all the users hasn't someone had some custom programming done that creates additional reports?

Hell I cannot even get my exports to work right now.

Looking for reports that give me things like.

Active Members
New subscribers this month
Canceled subscribers this week, this month, etc...
Current billings due this month.
List of declined charges this week, month, etc...
Rentention

Is anything like this available?

I would be VERY interested in these features as well.

I'm working with Ken Gary to create such a service.

These are good things to have:

Rentention - maybe a chart or graoh to show how long people stay, which month theirs a big drop off, etc..

awesome just bought it but where can I view the reports within amember? I do not want it to be emailed it to me all the time. I rather just check via amember. its not in the reports section and the configurations seems it needs to be emailed to you instead of viewing it via amember itself

ehr... crap I misread your question. Reports are send via email... and aren't within aMember.

I'm currently working on some reporting functions for aMember using some nice flash charts. What other types of reports would people want? I can try adding them to what I already have.

Right now, I have both flash based reports for aMember and x-cart (since I use both)

When I log into aMember, I get a flash line-chart that shows me how much I have made month-over-month for the year. I also have another that tells me how much I've made this month to date.

It is nice to have these reports right on the main screen so that I can stay on top of where my business is going!
