    Dear All,

When our site goes live we will be offering customers a 12 month subscription for $200.

What we plan to do is to offer those customers at the end of their 12 month subscription the opportunity to purchase a new subscription for a cheaper price ($50).

Now I know how to do this by adding another product through Amember admin.

However is there any way we can do this so that the existing customers would only see 1 product (the $50 one) on the signup page, rather than having to a see a list of products (including the one for $200 which is for new customers) on the signup page?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Best wishes,

    ch

    Offer a coupon?
Or create a new product and only allow expired members to order it.

You could create the new product and only allow current subscribers of the $200 product to see it.

    Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. I created a coupon and this worked perfectly. I didn't even know this existed!

    Best wishes,

    Hi jackgordon,

Thanks for your response. I would like to try out your solution as well. I understand how to create a product. However, can you please explain how I can set the product so that only the current subscribers of the $200 product can see it?

I would be grateful for your help.

    Best wishes,

Manage Products > Edit > scroll down to "Product Availability/Visibilty" and select "Only members having completed subscriptions"

I guess you can't limit visibility to people with a specific subscription, but you can limit the ability to purchase to current or past subscribers of that particular product in the sections below that called "Require another subscription to order this product" and "Disallow subscription to this product if the following conditions meet and user has:"

    Thanks for your reply jackgordon.

I just tried to create a product like the way you said and assigned it to those people whose membership to the main product has expired.

However, where do these existing people see the new cheaper product?

    Best wishes,

They should see it on the main client page when they log in.

If you wait for them to be expired, they may not have much natural incentive to return and see the offer. I would make it available while they are still subscribed to year one and call it something like "Special: Second year subscription only $50"

This should motivate those who are tempted to sign up before their current subscription expires.
