I purchased the Joomla integration plugin thinking it would protect Joomla dynamic content pages. I don't see how that should work. What obvious thing did I miss?
Here's How to protect your content in Joomla When you create a new content item in joomla you have some options to select. 1st. There are two areas where you can add content, the "Intro Text" which is required and the "Body Text" which is optional. Anything that you add to the intro will ALWAYS be public. The only protected content is in the "Body Text" portion. 2nd. On the right hand side of the page there is a box with 5 tabs. The first tab is "Publishing", make sure it's the active tab. Look at the 3rd entry in the publishing tab and make sure that the "Access Level" is set to "Registered" This means that the body text of this content item can only be viewed by "registered" Joomla users. If you've installed, configured and activated the amember/joomla plugin correctly this means that only users who have an valid account will be able to login and see that particular content item. The only time the "Intro Text" shows up is when that particular content item is displayed as a featured or Blog Item in Joomla. It acts as a teaser to get the reader to "click for more information". So far I know.. joomla does not allow you to create custom membership groups or levels.. there are fixed levels.. however in amember we can create unlimited no. of membership products, levels.. Any idea how to to integrate such levels with joomla?
You'll need to so some hacking into the joomla components. Using the aMember php_include protection on specific content categories. Do I need to also protect files for this to work or is that for non-Joomla content only? Using ROKstories in the solarsentinel theme and finding lots of difficulties getting the intro txt to appear AND then getting the link to force amember registration.... Part of the problem or possibly the problem is that if I set an article to "registered" or "guest" (JACL) it disappears from the front page, even the intro text. I have posted this issue in the rockettheme forum...
To protect your Joomla articles/pages you will need aMember Joomla article protection plugin. It's simply to install and to protect your articles all you need to do is put the following code: {subscription 1} #1 is amember product/subscription and only users who have that subscription active will be able to view article.
I really would like this plugin, bought it 4 days ago and still no plugin, download or email where i can get it,two emails sendt and no answer. The only thing that happened to me was that the money went away from my account.
Graphixx, did you receive your aMember Joomla article protection plugin I too am interested in the plugin, but don't want to lose my money either. Toolie
To get the plugin, you have to log into your customer area and check your subscriptions. The download link is there. It is not sent by email.
