Not sure where this would go but couldn't find a solution for this. Is there a way to track where a sale came from as I'm using amember and paypal. I'm used to using CB where you can attach a Tracking ID to a link. Now I'm not sure how I can do this with only amember and paypal. How are others handling this problem?
@evevera: are you referring to a referral website (ie. where the user came from before your site) or affiliate (who is responsible for generating the lead) ?
The first.. where the referral came from. Like I want to track whether one of my emails have generated a sale or whether the sale came from an article for example.
As David points out, I typically see this type of campaign management happen as a part of analytic tracking, where each email has a unique (could be ?ref=) URL that can be individually tracked against your defined funnel.
Well, first I can't seem to get aweber analytics to actually work. It doesn't track the sales properly. Second, I don't like google analytics for tracking sales. Only monitoring traffic. What I mean is they don't make it easy to track links, only traffic sources. For example if I wanted to track whether a sale came from a direct forum post I'd made, I haven't found an easy way to find this information on google analytics. It is also not realtime. Is there any other solution similar to CB or do I need to set up an affiliate program like with Post Affiliate Pro in order to have this kind of tracking.
It's still not quite what I'm looking for. I think I'm going to need an affiliate tracking program. For tracking ppc traffic sources and using TIDs, I don't see how else I would do it without being my own affiliate and doing it that way. Am I right?
