   I'm trying to put an .htaccess file into a folder and I put the code into motepad and save it comes up as a text file. How do I ake a .htaccess file or .htpassword file

   In note pad when you choose go to "save as" make sure to choose from the drop down "save as type" => "all Files"
   
   than just name it ".haccess" and press save
