    Hi,

I was able to install amember, but now I get this error message in the error logs:

"Cannot open /home/****/public_html/amember/data/.htpasswd for write. Make directory /home/****/public_html/amember/data and this file writeable for PHP scripts."

I changed the permissions on the data directory to 707 (I saw a forum post). The problem is.....my data directory appears empty whether I use an ftp program, OR if I use my cpanel file manager (another forum post suggested using a file manager).

    1. Do I need to change the permissions on the .htpasswd file?

    2. If so, how might I do this (step-by-step)?

    3. How will I know if the problem is solved?

Thanks so much for your help!!!

Thank you so much Abbeyvet!!! After changing the permissions, I was able to see the file in my file manager. Thanks for taking the time to answer!
