I Am not able to protect folders with .htaccess

    Hello, :(

    I Am not able to protect folders with .htaccess & i can not edit new_rewrite from admin panel.

    I am getting approximately same problem which www.earn4mhome.com. I read comments there but still i am getting error.

    Usually I see this when the folder or existing .htaccess file has the wrong permissions.

    Check to see if a .htaccess exists in the directory you are trying to protect and rename it (or back it up some other way) and delete it if you no longer need it. Try to reapply permissions.

    If it still fails, check permissions on the folder CHMOD and ensure Amember has rights (try 755 as a test but go back to something more secure when you are done)

    Also check to see if mod_rewrite is enabled on your host.
    Go to amember admin, version info and do a search for "rewrite" if you don't see it, or it is not enabled, ask your host to enable it.
