    Hello,

I have to import a long list of members who already are making monthly membership payments via Paypal's subscription feature.

Is the transition seamless to the actual members?

Will the aMember system automatically connect and take over the monthly subscription that each member has already established?

I'm not sure of the steps involved to make this work seamlessly. I'm concerned about creating a nightmare of problems if I do this incorrectly.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

    Hello Rich!
From what you describe, you will not have a lot of problems. Simply create additional fields in amember, export paypal data in csv, and import in amember with their respective mappings. For this there is a well designed function in amember to import.

In my case, I had to design a custom import php-script by myself as a lot of things needed to be done while imports, like converting seperate first and the last names from one field containing _first_last_name_ seperating them etc. So having a paypal format of export, your import_database is "quite an easy one!".

During the imports, you may have to work the imports in a manner that it correctly shows the "addad & completed" fields correctly. Then amember will also recognise the subscriptions recursively i.e. from the date backwards and will not shock your customers showing their subscriptions from the date of imports!

Then you need to simply configure amember products which is here meant to be services or subscriptions.

You may have nightmares, if you are not an experienced php tweaker! Further, you will give it free - if and only if - the imports and subscriptions are working correctly. Here you may need quite a bit of understanding, playing with amember, reading docs, reading forum, etc. which requires ofcourse investing your time.
