Do you want to configure Wordpress as the CMS for your aMember subscriptions? Then you need "The Bridge" (short for aMember Incremental Content - Wordpress Bridge plugin). It is the Wordpress plugin that will be able to handle Incremental Content for authorised/unauthorised access, and deliver content based on what the user subscribes. Protect your content, whether you are selling a product or a subscription! Drip feed content via Wordpress. Manage all your subscription or product content with Wordpress as a CMS. AmemberIncremental.com is home to The Bridge. You can see it in action by doing a Test Signup here. Once you sign up, you will get access to an instructional post on the various things you can do to see it in action.
Question 1. So, the bridge lets you select a hidden WP post to show up as a link on the member.php page? 2. And non-members who try to access the hidden WP page are redirected to the signup page? 3. If a membership expires, and a user renews, does their content continue from where they left off?
Hi sharris, 1. So, the bridge lets you select a hidden WP post to show up as a link on the member.php page? >> The Bridge does not automatically insert links into member.php. If you wish to add WP's links to member.php, you can do so via Manage Products > Edit > Additional URLs 2. And non-members who try to access the hidden WP page are redirected to the signup page? >> They will be shown an error message, which is completely customizable. You may also choose to redirect users to the signup page, although I would recommend the login.php or member.php instead. 3. If a membership expires, and a user renews, does their content continue from where they left off? >> Yes. Subscriptions are still controlled in aMember + Incremental Content (1 central control panel for subscriptions). Lee
Bad link Codeispoetry: The TestSignup link in your first post is a bad link (one too many HTTP's). Saavy folks will figure out how to get to your URL but thought you might want to fix it. Andrew
Just checked out the demo for The Bridge. Very cool! This may be more of a WordPress question than an aMember/Bridge question but here it goes nonetheless . . . Would it be possible to use aMember and WordPress and the Bridge to allow subscribers to have a personal amount of space for file uploads on a website? In other words, each person can be allocated a directory with 50 MB of space that they could manage. If not possible with WordPress/aMember, what mechanism would you suggest to achieve this function? Thanks, Andrew
Hi Andrew, that's for the heads up I have updated the link! It's great to hear your positive feedback on The Bridge Regarding your question, if you are looking at a 1-way upload (i.e. Admin uploads, and shares with individual users different content), then you are looking for an aMember plugin called "Personal Folders". You can contact aMember Helpdesk to purchase this plugin. If you run into issues setting it up, you can email me. However, if you are looking at your users actually uploading and managing the content on your server, I don't think aMember and/or WP has this functionality yet (perhaps some day...). Some other softwares... WP MU creates individual blogs for each user, so that might allow the file uploads you need. If the items uploaded are photos, you can consider Coppermine (aMember also has a plugin for this). Lee
