Hi, I'm very close to launching my membership site. The last step in the process is getting an SSL certificate installed on my server. The company I lease my server from doesn't have a problem selling me the certificate, but I am very confused when it comes to installing this certificate on aMember. I've done a fair bit of searching and I am surprisingly finding very little in terms of setting up SSL. I have an authorize.net merchant account and am currently accepting payments via the authorize AIM plugin. Can anyone point me in the direction of information regarding the setup of SSL with aMember? Thanks
Every server host I have ever worked with was willing to do the installation for me. Have you asked them?
Thank you for your reply. For our purposes, we actually needed a shopping cart. We've found ultracart to be the best option for our business. Just thought I would add some closure to this thread for future users who may ask the same question.
SSL Cert It doesn't matter if you use a shopping cart. The SSL cert has to do with your host. You can either get your host to sell you one, or you can buy your own and they will give you the certificate code to add to your cart/host. That's my experience anyway. My host, hostgator.com sells comodo ssl certs. But there are many companies that sell them. You might want to pay the extra money and get the one where url bar of the browser turns green to show a secure connection.
