Hi, So I'm trying to upgrade amember pro from an earlier version and the upgrade_db.php script says ""Zend Optimizer not installed". I downloaded the zend exe file but now have no idea what do to with this file or how to install it on my server!?! I am running a unix server. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. JC
Check to see if you downloaded the right one. Windows is first on the list and is an .exe file but you don't want that. ZEND http://www.zend.com/store/free_download.php?pid=13 Upon expanding the file the readme offers these install directions: Installation -=-=-=-=-=-= For Installation Instructions, how-to-use instructions, and support information, please see the Zend Optimizer User Guide, named ZendOptimizer_UserGuide.pdf, which you will find in the data/doc/ folder under Unix packages and in the "Start" menu on Windows installation. For more technical information on the Zend Optimizer, please see the Zend Optimizer Technical FAQ, named ZendOptimizer_TechFAQ.pdf. Good luck, Tom
Hi Tom, Thanks for your quick reply. I now downloaded the 2nd choice on that list (linux...) and read this in the attached pdf file: To install the Zend Optimizer under UNIX or Mac OSX 1. Execute the following command and follow the instructions: ./install.sh Unfortunately, as tech-savvy as I am, that makes zero sense to me! I may have a 'bit' of difficulty with this.....! JC
You need to ftp the files to your server and then log into your server via shell where you issue text line commands. The other loader, Ioncube is a bit easier to install. You still need to ftp the files though. Its at http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php Tom
Hey Tom, OK, I'm a little less confused now! I went to that site and downloaded IonCube "Linux (x86) Installer." I followed the instructions and it seems to be installed on my server now. (Does it need to be in any specific folder on my server?) So with this being the case now, how do I get around trying to upgrade through upgrade_db.php when it keeps saying "Zend Optimizer not installed"? Thanks. JC
The upgrade database issue is out of my experience. I assume you have posted a help request to support. They almost always respond within hours and always give answers much better than anything available from us fellow users. If you haven't posted to support the link is on every page of the forum or click here https://www.cgi-central.net/support/ Good luck! You're almost there. Tom PS, restarting the webserver may initialize the optimizer.
Hey Tom, Yes, I have submitted help tickets and Alex is extremely helpful and on the ball! Thanks! JC
