Does amember have the ability to integrate with a web-based course, such that the user would need to log in to access the web-based course?
Goldensvcs, aMember integrates nicely with open source web-based course software eFront: http://www.amember.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8632 They just released a beta of their 3.5.2 product.. quite nice!
Hello, Davidm1! At this point, our plan is to use basic HTML pages with PHP scripting to "hold" the student for a period of time before advancing them to the next page within the course. We need a login/out component (thinking amember) and we need to track where the student is within the course (probably with a simple MySQL database that tracks completion of each segment. So, basically, we want to somehow wrap amember around our simple web pages. Skippybosco, we will take a look at eFront. We were not aware of anything out there that would possibly integrate with amember, so maybe this will work. Hopefully, we will be able to control the minimum amount of time a student must spend on each page, etc. Thanks to you both for your thoughts!
One more item. The client may only do this once or twice for their website, so we are trying to minimize the upfront development effort since this won't be a repeatable process for the client.
If you can get the client to agree, the simplest solution is to use amember with the incremental content plugin. You would drip the lessons to the student on a set schedule based on signup. This would not track student progress, unless you added the tracking feature you suggested. skippybosco has more experience with elearning formats so may be able to better advise you if you needed a more sophisticated solution.
