I am looking to try out the software but I am not sure what these are. What are they and is one particularly better than the other?

    hi bplbiz,

These are both encoding packages.Essentially they are used to protect (hide) the source code.

In the free trial version of aMember almost everything is encoded.

In the Pro version just the rconfig file is encoded to protect the licensing / software protection routines.

I would personally go with Zend if your host supports it, but really not much difference between the two and there is no benefit to you the admin or use on which one you use.

    Zend

Thanks for the quick reply. You recommend zend "if my hosting supports it" can I find this out before I install or is it just trial an error. I am using namecheap.com for my hosting. they use cpanel for the admin.

On the Free Trial download page, there is a link to a small Testing Script.

You upload the one PHP file and run it. It will let you know if your hosting is setup to run aMember or if not, what you will probably need to do so.

It is about 3K and very simple to use.
