As most of the IP.Board Basic Plugin (ipb22) users would be aware JLogica developed the current series sold by CGI-Central well now we have an Advanced plugin. To see the feature comparison see the KB Article - Plugin comparison Standard vs Advanced while there you should also have a look at the KB Articles on installation, member group setup, even on on how to use the included conversion utilities. Yes you heard right, the Advanced plugin has two utilities, one to convert your users and another to convert IP.Board Subscriptions to aMember Products. One other major difference with the Advanced plugin is that you are able to set more than one group permission for each product, so if you want Product 3 to also allow access to groups for Products 1 & 2 as well you can without any trouble whatsoever. There is still more documentation coming, especially after the utilities are used how to handle advising users of changes and general cleaning up. If you think of something that should be documented let me know I may add it to my list of jobs. Think this is neat? Well the first 25 purchases will receive $25 off with coupon 079A7EE86E in the customer area. Now the warnings, I have been using the plugin on my two sites all seems fine, I have also done local conversions all ok too. But as with everything new make a backup! Cheers, Larry PS: What's next after dox are finished dunno maybe phpBB3 PPS: Need a help desk? Try the Trellis Desk with aMember plugin PPPS: Have a large database? Try the Advanced DB Rebuild
The final part has been added to this a bulk mailer for sending outthepassword change notifications. The conversion documentation is also complete.
I can't seem to find any information about the Standard and Advanced versions now. Have they been merged at this point?
The 'Advanced' is the one I sell at JLogica. The standard I gave to CGI when IP.Board 2.x was released. Larry
