Invision has announced that they are working on V3 of IP.Board whilst how long it is going to be is open to question some issues that IP.Board / aMember people will need to be aware of before considering moving to IP.Board v3.x. Version 3 will require PHP 5.x (no support for v4 at all) Existing v2.x templates will not work in v3.x and can not be converted Most mods will need upgrading That's the minor issues from the hints being given, the existing login/logout API's will be changing and also the internal processing. So if you are running IP.Board and aMember please be aware that v3.x will probably be incompatible with my existing plugin. When Invision release v3 I will do what is required to make it work again, but please whatever you do - DO NOT UPGRADE TO V3 until there is a new plugin. Larry
logout from IP Board - doesn't work Hi Larry, I noticed your wrote this plugin so I thought you would be very familiar with IPBoard. In the IPB ACP, Login Manager, IPB Internal, if I set the Log In User Log Out URL field to www.mydomain.com/amember/logout.php, I get logged out of amember but if I return to the IPB board folder, I find I am still logged in on IPB. I am following the AMember Pro Manual, (old pdf version, p. 62, section 8.5.5, Plugin Hooks - login helpers: It notes that "replacing logout link in third party application - it must point to aMember logout page." So I am stuck. Do you know how to resolve this with IPB? Thanks, Brian
Are you using the aMember default plugin or my advanced version? If you like contact me over at JLogica.. Larry
I have just downloaded IP.Board v3.0.0 RC1 which is the first that allowed me to see what needs changing for the aMember/IP.B plugin. So far it seems only some minor twiddles will be necessary. I am still poking around in the internals will try a test run today at some point Larry
Been tinkering with the new IP.B the login method has changed, the converge table is gone being merged into members, the external login controller seems to be broken (not confirmed it just seems wrongish). So it will be more than just a teensy change. Have not talked to Alex about the updating of the default aMember plugin when I have what I think is a stable widget will let people who have purchased the advanced plugin have a test out. Larry
I almost have integration working with v3 RC2 of IP.Board. There are a number of issues with the changes made to the internals of the forum, assuming no more problems I plan on having a beta version available on JLogica next week. I would not recommend using it live yet, and testing with a clean install if the v3 RC. I will need to write a conversion routine to grab the v2 plugin information and insert it into the new plugin. The v3 plugin will be incompatible totally with a v2 forum. Installation/Upgrade instructions will naturally be provided. You will need to have purchased the plugin direct to get this upgrade, my current v2 users will receive the v3 plugin at no charge. Larry
