    Hi,

I'm using the timed release plugin where users get access to one more area each month they remain a member.

Each month I want to give them access to a new download area and also a new forum area where they can discuss the contents of the new material...

...but I don't want members to have access to forum areas they have not yet reached in their membership.

I asked support and they said it is not possible to use the timed-release plugin with a forum but there must be a way of doing it because I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this type of setup.

Please let me know what your ideas are.

    Thanks,
    Murray

Piece o'cake ..... not elegant but easy.
Simply password protect all member areas of the forum (different password for each new section). When the user is entitled to have access to that new section simply place the password in the delivered incremental content section.
    Its messy but it works.

Since the incremental content plugin protects directories, you can't do it directly.

    calisolllc suggested a good solution!
You could also email the new code.

What forum software are you using?

Have not decided on a forum software, recommendations?

    Hi,

sorry for the tardy reply but just back on my feet after a major hard-drive melt-down.

I don't want to email a password, rather keeping everything as hands-free as possible.

I have also not decided on a forum software yet, what recommendations do you have?

What forum software works best with amember.

    Thanks

I can only speak from experience on that question and have used phpBB with good success but I'm sure others will have other recommendations also.
With respect to phpBB I BELIEVE that the newest version released a few weeks back (Version 3) might have some issues with the phpBB plugin that are not yet resolved (see other threads for that) but version 2 works fine
