Anyone have any information on whether amember with Joomla integration breaks when you upgrade to 1.0.10? This is a critical security upgrade but amember is also critical. Before I upgrade, does anyone have a working installation with 1.0.10? Thanks so much. Pam
I am working on it as we speak. It doesn't work straight away - if I have any breakthroughs I will post back.
I've been looking at it also. Presently on my local installation the following happens: 1) User logs into aMember via the Joomla puglin or directly -> aMember logs them in and Joomla correctly logs them in (marked as logged in in the administrator panel; 2) But, Joomla frontend doesnt get 'told' that the user is correctly logged in and so does not show registered content etc. 3) If the user uses the aMember logout link, they are correctly logged out of Joomla. I'm not really sure what is happening yet, except to say that the $my object which contains all the user information is not getting correctly set in the Joomla frontend and I imagine that this is linked to the manner in which cookies are being generated. I would love to hear others experiences. Ian
OK - I have this working. It actually worked right after the upgrade without any input or changes from me.
We're having the same problem as described by ianh. If anyone has resolved this post a reply. We'll post ours once we get it solved.
We have a help ticket in and aren't trying to create any confusion. The post here is really for feedback from other users. Alex - your help is toooo good. We're running Joomla 1.0.10, aMember 2.3.8 Pro and will upgrade soon, Joomla and vBulletin plug-ins. Yes, the Joomla plugin is recent. For others, we temporarily solved this by using Joomla's Login Form. It's actually nicer anyways. Changed the Lost Password link to point to the aMember Login Page that has this functionality. aMember will send the password, Joomla will send a NEW pass, this creates a whole new set of problems. So now we basically lost the integration with our vBulletin Forum. We'll post the final answer, probably from Alex, we get from the Help Ticket. Solution - Check the settings in your Global Config/Server/Security. Yeah, Yeah; Alex is the man!
I'm still having problems with Joomla 1.0.10/1.0.11 as it is now and aMember. It doesn't seem to matter what security setting I use in the Joomla config, the same thing seems to happen - the user is logged into aMember and Joomla (at least in the admin section). But the frontend simply ignores the user. I'm pretty sure this is because of the way the getUser() function works in includes/joomla.php - but I cannot understand why some other people here seem to have it working. Could someone give more detail on what was done? BTW 121boks - I did see your PM but forgot the username/password to access it! ianh
Ian, could you submit a ticket? Provide: URL of aMember URL of Joomla test username/password to login.
