I am using Joomla with NoixACL and with a new user to the site, everything seems to work fine. They pay for membership and then get put into the 'registered' Joomla group. However, if a user had previously signed up for a free membership and then chooses to upgrade to paid membership, then the Joomla user group is not being updated to reflect the paid membership status. I have tried rebuilding the database, but that does not seem to work either as it changes those users that I have manually changed back to the free group. It almost looks like it is putting the user back into the group that it initially belonged to.

Has anyone else seen this and do you have a workaround?

    Thanks,
    TM

I beileve plugin modification will be required in order to use NoixACL.
If you can provide server access info please contact us in helpdesk, we will check what can be done.

Our company is currently looking to do a similar set up where we use JACL to create additional groups in Joomla. There will be one usergroup per product. We currently have 3 products (all subscription-based e-learning).

Will Amember only display Joomla's default usergroup listing or will it pull the core_acl_aro_groups table in Joomla? If it does a dynamic lookup, we're all good, but if it has all the default usergroups statically configured within amember, I suspect custom programming will be needed.

Please reply when you can, thanks!

As far as I know currently only Joomla in combination with JACLplus Pro gives what you want.

Note that with Joomla 1.6 the JACL will change completely and we no longer should need the enhancements of JACLplus Pro or NoixACL. I don't know how long it will take before 1.6 becomes available, since Joomla 1.6 is not even into Beta...

Anyway, for now there are better solutions for Joomla (with better much support - NoixACL being one of them) since they don't hack the JACL system of Joomla.

As stated by Alexander above if you use a different JACL solution than the Joomla default and/or Joomla with JACLplus Pro then the plugin needs some adjustments.
