This should be actually an easy to solve problem. The problem is just with the link you click on - it leads to the non-wrapped version of the profile. It needs to be changed to the wrapped profile URL.

Please see the attached file. It's a slightly modified version of the already modified member.html template. Just change the new $wrapped_profile_url variable value to the wrapped profile URL for the /amember/profile.php page and it should work.

It should work but as I mentioned, my integration is slighlty different so I have no easy way to test it. Please let me know if you find any problem.

    Hi Thomas,

I've been following this thread and I'm starting to get into the thick of things now.

I undesrtand what the new amember plug-in is supposed to do. Actaully read through the entire readme file.

I have it installed, but I really don't think it does anything. On load, it looks for several parameters in the POST in order to determine what it should do.

Do you know where it gets these parameters?

My current setup, I'm going to the aMember login page and being redirected to Joomla after that. The plug-in appears designed soley to take me back to aMember if certain params are passed. Kind of pointless if I'm already being redirected by aMember to Joomla.

Anyway, thanks for all the useful info and examples!

    cheers,

    - t

I'm thinking load order has something to do with it now that I'm digging in a bit. Right now, the only way the amember plug-in doesn't debilitate my site is to load it in 3rd. The default is 0, but the _VALID_MOS is not defined first. This is a legacy thing. I have Legacy plug-in installed, but it also loads 3rd.

    Hi,

I have followed Thomas instruction in this thread and everything except "Sign up" seems to work fine.
How do I edit signup page to make it stay in wrapper while signing up and making payement?

    Thank you!

    Intergration Problem, No Profile!

    Hi,

When I ordered Joomla I was told it would intergrate with the forum I had, however whilst it does remember the username and you can post in the forum, the profiles can not be viewed, nor can you view your own profile or instant message other users.

On your profile you get the message,

WARNING: This is not your profile. As a moderator, you are editing the profile of user: Unnamed user.

So my request is how can you get your profile/IM features functioning on joomla correctly. I am guessing this is something to do with a problem intergrating with community builder, is there a way round this? As long as the forum functions, has profiles and users can message each other I don't care if I use community builder or not.

    Cheers, Phil

Having the aMember profile and registration pages look like the rest of the site is critical, not optional. There ought to be a way to do this automatically without editing multiple HTML files to match Joomla's output.

    Is there such a thing?

Without visual/template integration, aMember is a great way to chase customers away. That's not what my clients paid for.

There is no automatic way. You have to edit templates in aMember.
And usually only three templates should be changed header, footer and styles.

Didn't Tomfra say the changes had to be made separately for member, profile, and registration?

Tomfra purportedly had an elegant solution, but the link to his instructions is no longer valid, so I don't know. In the absence of this unknown solution, the answer to your question is: it depends on what you mean by integration.

If you mean that you want your aMember pages to look like your Joomla pages, you're out of luck. aMember does nothing to do this integration. Here are your instructions:

First, open up the HTML source of one of your Joomla pages and copy the HTML code of everything up to the beginning of the article content. You want to paste that into your amember/templates/header.html file.

Second, copy the HTML code of everything after the article content into your amember/templates/footer.html file.

The downside of this approach is that what you've done is made a static HTML wrapper for your aMember pages. Any benefit you count on from using a CMS like Joomla is gone for these pages. If you have navigation tabs or dynamic widgets with recent comments or stock prices or the weather or whatever, all of that content will be exactly the same. If you have any content that you expect to change, the best thing is to simply remove it. No sense in showing months-old data.

Also, any time you make any changes to your Joomla template, you get to do this process over again. The reasons that you're using Joomla? Kiss them goodbye for the aMember pages. aMember has login sharing so that if one logs in or registers on aMember that user is logged in or registered on your Joomla site as well. There is no site integration where the aMember functionality lives inside your Joomla site.

    Using amember with Joomla wrapper

I am quite new at this amember solution.
been trying to get amember working inside the Joomla wrapper and it works fine All links stay in the wrapper window, except for the "Logout" link which I want to use to exit from the wrapper. It keeps the screen inside the wrapper instead of taken you to a normal joomla page.
I haven't found any solution from the ones discussed in this thread.
    Any help from someone?
    Thanks in advance

    Shariff

Edit page that holds logout link and change link target, for example:
    <a href='/amember/logout.php' target='_top'>Logout</a>
