I had a tough time getting Joomla 1.5 and Amember to integrate - I was able to get into the main site with admin creds but not the backend - I remove all products and protections and started over and got it to work - I had to set the default member level to superadmin to get a new usable admin into the system...

the problem is when i "rebuild DB" in amember admin it rewrites my admin to the registered level that the joomla plugin is set for...

So I've got good admins in joomla now and prefer to not ever rebuild DB if not needed...

BUT now that I've reset the stanard user level for new signup in the joomla plugin in amember back to registered, the new signups coming in are still superadmin...

    any ideas?

    thank you!

    to be more clear...

i could log into joomla front end and it recognized as an administrator... but no access to the joomla admin... i would get this error:

"You do not have access to the administrator section of this site." amember

even though review of the joomla DB showed the account as superadmin and active.

like i said - i did resolve this but now the problem i have is that the joomla signup product in amember is putting them into joomla as superadmins even though i've changed it back to "registered"

are you not allowed to change these settings on the fly? do i have to delete the product and make a new one? the settings just don't seem to take when i reset it in the joomla plugin under amember configuration...

thanks in advance for any help or advice you maybe have.

To start with- you shouldnt be creating an "admin" user in amember.
    1) Create a user "yourname"
    2) create a new product called adminaccess with admin privileges for joomla
    3) add this product to yourname.

    To create a public/paid system.
Create products in amember and give them registered privileges for joomla.
