I hope that this is the right place to ask this question.

I am using Joomla that runs with a joomla/SMF (Simple Machines forum). The registration uses the bridge to log people into the content.

    Here is my question.

I know that there is a mod that I can purchase to integrate Joomla with aMember. But does this still work with the other connection I have between Joomla and SMF?

    Thank you in advance

    Andrea

So what is mentioned here wrong then?

    Most confusing.

From my understanding, I may be wrong, the SMF bridge grabbed details from the Joomla memberlist. So why doesn't aMember fit with that concept?

Why I'm asking is that I have 50 clients who we are moving to SMF with Joomla they are looking to have paid membership access and I figured I check you guys out.

Looks like this may be a dead end:eek:

If SMF configured to use Joomla built-in users database, it will work with aMember without any problems.

Am I correct in thinking that what you told Andrea
and what you just told me
    are the exact opposite?

If I'm running Joomla/SMF bridge so there is a one point registration and login. I don't know of any other way to do this than via either of the two Bridges ... Orstio's Version with Joomla and SMF in separate Databases and Joomla Hacks Version with SMF and Joomla in the one database

Before I commit to your software and advise many others to do so as well, I really do require an answer that sets this straight. ;)

So does Joomla! installed with either of the SMF bridges, or one of the specified bridges, and aMember work as a one point login and memberhip registration and management system? Bold for clarity ... I'm not yelling ;)

Can you please set our minds at rest. :)

Someone said me that SMF requires CommunityBuilder, so my question was that it will not work with aMember. It was wrong information, because there are hacks which you mention above.

Answer is "YES" - If you can make SMF working and using Joomla built-in users database, it will work. There are no reasons for this to do not work.
