When requesting a password reminder, users are presented with the following error on sendpass.php:

The information you have entered is incorrect.
Username [] does not exist in database

This happens with usernames (with and without spaces) and email address input also.

Any ideas on why this will be the case?

I know this is a very old posting, but I just encountered the exact same error although I know the username exists. It is not the admin account, I am using a test account as a member advised us through our contact page that they got a similar error. The email template is setup as well. Not sure why this is occuring. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

What exact aMember version number do you have? Try to upgrade to latest one, or if upgrade is not possible, contact us in helpdesk.

I am using 3.2.3 Pro. Any thoughts? I can contact the help desk but was hoping maybe some ideas could be shared here since the help desk is only open while I am sleeping it seems :).

Please contact us in helpdesk and provide exact example, I need to check script settings and test this myself.
