Hi All, our Treasurer for our non-profit discovered an odd change going from V3 to V4 in that she can no longer enter a manual payment with a flexible dollar amount. For example, one member purchasing our $20/ per 1 year membership will send in a check for $30 and ask that $10 go towards donation. another might send in a check for $100 and ask that $80 go to donation. And finally, at any time, members will just send in checks for donation. In the past using V3, a "Donation" product was created at $0.00 for lifetime and the Treasurer was able to go into AM backend and make manual payments assigned to the "Donation" product and enter any dollar amount. Even though in V4 I set up a "Donation" product at $0.00 for lifetime, our Treasurer has no way to manually enter a dollar amount. As soon as she picks "Donation" the fixed price of $0 is displayed and is not editable. Is this by design? Is there a way to work around this? I'll attach screen shots if that helps P.S. I did look up [donations] in forum and found a similar question asked about a donation plugin that came out in V4.2.12. Not sure If I need to install that to address this issue > http://www.amember.com/forum/threads/donation-plugin.15930/#post-61272 V3 Add Donation... V3 Donation Product... V4 Donation Product... V4 Add Invoice... V4 Expand Invoice... V4 Add Payment...
I need this ability as well. I looked at creating a a customizion for this... with the new invoice structure a customization doesn't look like a simple task. As small buisness wiith personal service we need more manual control. There tasks which are simple and easy with v3 that are impossible with v4. V4 has made some great impovements!!! but there are some basic tasks/ abilities which need to be fixed or brought back. Thanks!
We got it to work with the Donation plugin ($40) that allows a customizable field on the member's side. However, our Treasurer had issues on the admin side when people sent her odd check amounts because the manual payment entry still keeps a set dollar amount for the product ($0). Our work around was for the Treasurer to use the "Log In As" link next to the user and pose as the user making a donation by check.
